How does it work first time round on long grass?
If the grass is very long and thick you should raise the cutting height and then gradually reduce it to the preferred level. In very extreme conditions the lawn may need to be cut by a conventional mower before Automower® takes over.

What actually happens at installation? It is possible to do the installation yourself, following the instructions in the operator’s manual. It takes 2-5 hours, depending on the size and complexity of your lawn. We recommend you have the local dealer install the unit. They have the experience and training to do it in the most efficient manner. Most dealers offer an installation service, although it is not included in the recommended retail price. -
Time and WeatherDoes it work in the rain? Automower® will cut grass in most types of weather, and is designed to handle wet conditions. It is however recommended to bring the mower inside in extreme weather conditions, such as torrential rain, storms and thunder.Can it work at night? With its remarkably low decibel level, Automower® can easily be at work in the garden, day or night, without disturbing you or your neighbours.

Cutting efficiencyHow does it know it has covered the whole lawn? By mowing in a seemingly random pattern, in various directions, you will get a carpet-like lawn, throughout your garden. In 20 years of testing it has also proven to be the most reliable way to cover the whole lawn, leaving no uncut grass. The reliability and precision of other technologies necessary for systematic mowing is not sufficient to offer an improvement over the loop wire and random based system, used by Automower® today.

Handling obstaclesHow does it deal with uneven surfaces? Due to the large driving wheels, Automower® can cope with uneven surfaces very well. It also handles slopes up to 45% (24°) incline. Automower® is small enough to follow the curvature of a rough lawn. It will not scalp the mounds or ridges like many larger mowers.What if there are small objects on the lawn? To maximize the life of the blades, stones, leaves, sticks and other small objects should be raked or collected regularly. They will not damage the mower, but the blades will wear faster. Tree branches may also damage or bend the blades resulting in a poor cutting performance.
